Deputy Minister of Research and Technology of the Ministry of Health: Iran’s rank in science production is 1st in the region and 15th in the world

The Deputy Minister of Research and Technology of the Ministry of Health said: He has put all his efforts on supporting knowledge-based companies, growth centers and science and technology parks in order to improve the quality and quantity of research education in order to achieve scientific authority and access to new medical technologies.

While stressing the importance of practicality of articles, he said: The process of science production is growing in all countries and all countries are trying not to be consumers and to improve in science production. Currently, the average annual growth rate of science production in the country is 7.44 and in the field of medical sciences is 8.33, which shows the continuity and increasing acceleration of science production in the country, which should continue.

Regarding the presence of medical sciences universities of the country in the global ranking systems in the period of 2021 to 2022, he said: According to the results of the ranking systems of Webometrics, Times, Shanghai and Leiden in the period of 2021 to 2022, it indicates there has been an increasing trend in the ranking systems of medical sciences universities in the country.

The vice president of research and technology of the Ministry of Health said: One of the demands of the Ministry of Health from the universities of medical sciences is specialization; This means that specialized areas should produce science based on the basic needs of the country.

Regarding the state of research structures, he stated: Currently, there are 806 government research centers approved by the country’s medical sciences universities, 34 non-government research centers approved by the country’s medical sciences universities, 69 research institutes approved by the country’s medical sciences, and 25 health research networks. Approved and active, there are 88 clinical research development units, 553 disease and health outcome registration programs, and 40 comprehensive research laboratories.

He said: At the beginning of 1401, according to the special mission assigned by Dr. Einollahi to the Deputy of Research and Technology; We have put all our efforts on supporting knowledge-based companies, growth centers and science and technology parks in order to improve the quality and quantity of education and research in order to achieve scientific authority and access to new medical technologies.

Dr. Panahi reminded: Currently, 391 active knowledge-based companies in the health field have been established in 1401 out of a total of 1153 active knowledge-based companies in the health field. Also, 1391 health-oriented products in growth centers and health technology parks and universities of medical sciences have succeeded in obtaining marketing licenses.

He said: In the past year, 7 innovation centers have been launched and established with the permission of the Medical Sciences Universities Development Council and 8 health technology development centers. Also, 3 health science and technology parks have been launched.

He stated that the 43% increase in the production of health-oriented goods in the year of production, knowledge-based and job-creating, the employment of 7966 people in knowledge-based companies in the field of health, the increase of 528 companies to the companies located in the growth centers of medical sciences, the increase of 567 in the number of prototype products The increase of 269 licensed products and the increase of 115 commercial products are among the most important achievements of the Research and Technology Department of the Ministry of Health since the beginning of the 13th government.
